My husband is doing some writing and his great grandfather came up in his story.  My husband was fortunate that he got to spend time with his great grandfather who was born in 1882.  He cherished the time he got to spend with him and in fact would be up overnight with excitement when he was going to see him because he loved his stories.

This got me thinking about my grandfather, Henry who was born in 1900. I was even more fortunate than my husband in that I got to see my grandfather, daily for at least a period of at least 10 years.

This got me wondering if he was the oldest person I ever knew but he was not.  Most of Henry’s (large) family was dead but he had an older sister who lived in town. We’d go see her when she’d call, Henry to fix something around her house. She was born in 1892.
